How do you get an acting agents attention in a cover letter and resume?
In a cover letter you want to sound as personable as possible… Though it's not the thing you should be worrying about.
What you need to make sure is amazing is your Resume… A resume is THE MOST essential item for an actor. It tells the Casting director all they need to know… What they're capable of and if they are experienced or not. It can even tell them your certain Type Cast you are… That means its the role you tend to play, like Shy and sweet, or loud and obnoxious. Your resume can tell them whether your versatile or not… So its extremely important!
NEVER DO THIS:
What !ris said is totally WRONG about one thing! you NEVER should attach your photo to your resume and/or your contact information because if the casting director doesn't like you they will throw it in the trash (believe me it happens!) and any person can go in the trash and pick up your picture!!!!!!! DON'T DO IT! keep your photo and resume separate from your contact information and keep them together with a paper clip or something.
Best Of Luck!
